Jeff heard the front door open and close, followed by a ping from the Chronivac on the computer. Jeff looked at the computer and saw that a new profile had appeared as a potential subject, his older brother Sam, who was 20 and a college student at the local community college when he wasn't bussing tables at a restaurant downtown. Sam was likely home to change into his work uniform before heading back out for his evening shift. Also home, but secluded to his room was Jeff's younger brother, Alex, who was 12, on the cusp of puberty and already trying to claim himself as a teenager. He was standing in the bathroom, having just finished a shower after soccer practice, and it looked like he was flexing in front of the mirror trying to make himself look bigger and stronger than he was. Another ping from the Chronivac noted that their Dad, Mike, 49, had just pulled into the garage and turned off the car. Like most days, Dad sat in his car for a few minutes, likely looking over the mail he'd grabbed before turning in. Lately any moment to be by himself he seemed to take.
Jeff wondered what it might be if he changed and shifted his brothers and father around in terms of ages. Alex clearly wished to be older, Sam could take a bit of a break from his breakneck schedule, and Dad clearly needed a break from being adult...
