Anya came back to Jeff's room. She had changed some of her body proportions to fit her clothing, though maybe she wasn't exactly her original shape and size, and had changed the clothing too. Jeff stood up and looked at her. She didn't look _exactly_ human, but close enough that no one would notice without examining her closely. "Not bad, for a child's doll," he joked. She walked over, and mimed slapping him, but laughed. She hugged him, which was a first. He hugged her back. She had changed her hard plastic body to something softer, that felt like skin. She seemed happy, and if she was happy, then he was happy for her, even if he was still sad that she couldn't ever actually be human again. Then again, maybe the important part of being human wasn't the flesh and bones.
"Let's watch that movie," she said, and he walked downstairs with her.
"I'll make popcorn. What are we watching?" he asked.
"I think it might be appropriate to watch _Blade Runner_," she suggested. "Does that work for you?"
"You bet!" replied Jeff, as he headed for the kitchen. "Say, can you eat popcorn?"
"Let's find out!" she replied.
