Rose and her husband looked over the list of options they had to become mythical creatures for Mythtopia the Mythical creature theme parks across the world. The list had columns of what mythical creature the different theme parks wanted, a short description of the creature and finally the last two columns told each of them the amount of money they would make and how long they would be that mythical creature.
“Wow…a dragon gets 3 million dollars a year.” Said Alex then he saw that the length of the contract was 25 years. 75 million dollars each for a grand total of 150 million was tempting for sure but knowing they wouldn’t be human again until they were almost 50 or even together since most parks only had one dragon put that out.
“I kind of want to remain at least somewhat human.” Stated Rose “I want to look in the mirror and recognize myself.”
“Same, but that money wow….” Confirmed her husband as both went to the near human lists.
“Elves are out, we would just make enough to pay all our depts and nothing more.” Stated Rose as she looked at how much they made. Elves, dwarves and the other nearly human creatures where the parks general employees, they ran the gift shops, served food and the like. They got paid less but they actually had the option of leaving the park and going on vacation since they were nearly human.
“So we need something somewhat human but not too human.” Alex started as he looked down the list.
“I can’t believe mermaid pays so little, I expected more.” Stated Rose as she looked at the mermaid job. It wasn’t bad but others were higher.
“What do you mean? Looks good to me.” started her husband as Rose looked at his computer pad. The price for merman was almost double that of mermaid.
“Why is merman so high? Compared to mermaid.” inquired Rose
“My guess it is a gender thing, more women become mermaids then men become merman.” Stated Alex “Look male Minotaur makes about half of that as female minotaur.”
“Makes sense I guess.” Confirmed Rose, she noticed as well some of the still human but more horrifying creatures did make more money for the same length of time. A person whom became a Lamia (snake person from waist down) or a Drider (spider person from waist down) made almost double the money of a centaur or a merperson. Were creatures, werewolves, cats and others made more then centaurs/merpeople but less then the lamia/driders.
“Each has their own plus sides and down sides.” Said Alex as they made their list and talked it over before coming to an agreement.
Once done they poked their heads out of the interview room and the recruiter who had been working at a nearby desk walked over.
“Any questions or have you made up your minds?” inquired the recruiter
“Yes, we have decided on the five year contract.” Started Rose “For two….”
