Hours after splashing into the pond, Martin in the master bedroom of the cottage in the middle of the forest with his wife, Lizzie on bed. He took a nice shower after his experience in the pond and was just wearing a bathrobe. Stretching, he yawned and said, "Boy... What a day. Ain't everyday that you fall off the path and into a pond. I just hope that a night rest will make me feel better."
As he approached his side of the bed and saw his wife looked at him worried. He could see Lizzie looking concerned and asked her, "What?"
Lizzie looked away as she told him, "Nothing... It's just that, you've been soaked in that pond for quite a while and we don't know what was in there. As far as I am concerned, it could some kind of infection of something. Are you sure you're all right."
Martin rolled his eyes around and gave a deep sigh. "Of course I'm fine, Liz. You can tell that I am still standing here and kicking it. And it was just a pond filled with clean water. No way there's anything infectious or living in there. So stop worrying about me."
Lizzie though ain't buying it and shook her head saying, "Still. You need to check to see if nothing hasn't affect you. I think we should go to the doctor tomorrow to see if you are okay. I don't want to loose you if something bad happens to you. Please... Listen to me for once."
Martin heard that and gave a bit of a groan. "Fine... Whatever you say Liz. I'll head to the doctor first thing tomorrow morning and see if I didn't get any infection from the lake. Still, I feel like nothing has happened to me."
Yawning, he got on the bed and lay next to his wife, giving her a peck on the cheek before saying, "Goodnight..."
He soon turned off the lamp and went straight to sleep. Lizzie looked to him sleeping as she sighed and said, "Yeah... Night..." She soon went to bed as well, still feeling worried about what has happened today when he fell into that strange pond. After all, she knew something bad would've happened to him. And believe it or not, she was right.
As the two were sleeping, Martin felt a tingle and groaned in his sleep. That soon passed as he thought that it was just nerves. But that wasn't the case.
For what is happening is the affect of the mysterious pond is starting to take effect as his body was slowly regressing at night. As it turned out, the pond was that of the fountain of youth in a way. Even as it didn't immediately affect him, it was slowly starting to deteriorate his body, and in Lizzie's case, she would fear that something bad would happen to him and when they both wake up in the morning. Slowly but surely, Martin starts to regress...
