The room rippled like someone had thrown a rock into a pond. When the girls came to, Dan was back to normal as if nothing happened, but the main cause of concern was what had happened to Kat. She was now a statue composed of what seemed to be ash, and crackled with static electricity.
Dan gawked. "Snap out of it, Sis!" he shouted, and reached a hand to touch her face. Her friends screamed as Kat's form crumbled away into dust and the book reappeared in Daniel's hands. "This is your fault!" one of the girls said, her eyes filled with tears, hatred, and more than a little fear. Dan was freaking out at the moment, as he hadn't truly HATED his sister, and wanted her back.
