Alex walked across the beach his feet on the sand which felt so weird, he had never walked before yet alone on the beach. He walked slightly unsteady on his feet but he was just one “human” among many, so he didn’t draw too much attention to himself. He noticed that a few people were looking at him, but when one of them winked at him he figured they were checking him out.
His merman body had somewhat come with him through the change into a human, he still had the ripped muscles and bright blonde hair.
He was drawing the attention of many women and men his own age and that was what he wanted, he was in search for a mate or even mates but having multiples humans transform at once was a once in a generation event, so he wasn’t expecting that to happen.
The shark tooth necklace around his neck which had been charming was what allowed him to walk among the humans for this day. He had to return to the sea by sunrise tomorrow or sooner depending on if he should find a mate sooner than that. It was also a sort of guide giving slight tugs in the direction of any possible mates which the magic of the sea believed would be good mermaids or merman.
The necklace pulled him down the long beach crowded with humans of all kinds enjoying the warm summer day and beautiful weather. He followed it toward a large group of humans about his age who were all enjoying their day together.
It was a mix group of men and women, all around 23 or 24 like he was. Some were sunbathing, something mermaids and merman did themselves on remote islands where no one would find them. Some were playing the human game of volleyball, which a version of that had been brought to merfolk culture by former humans. Others were playing in the water, swimming and surfing and some of them where playing among the sand.
Alex waited a moment studying the humans as the shark tooth necklace pulled him toward one of the groups and a person/people.
