Walking arm in arm with Melissa, Casseus now reviewed the latest projects and stock portfolios of New Horizon. Since the attack, business had been good. The stock prices had increased by 15 percent since the attack by the Harris siblings and the R&D department had several promising products that were nearing completion.
"Life is good my dear," Casseus grinned. "And business is even better."
Melissa chuckled girlishly, running her hand across Casseus chest. Nothing made her more excited than watching Casseus work. The brilliant, business minded, dark wizard had a knack for making money and picking the right stocks. It had made the couple more money than she ever hoped for. Melissa was living the life of her dreams and no one could stop her.
Opening the door to his office, Casseus scowled as he glared at the individual sitting in front of his desk.
"What could you possibly want now Geshp?"
Geshp grinned, the devilish S.P.E.A.R agent relaxing as he awaited Casseus. "Is that anyway to greet an old friend," he grinned, his dark eyes now focusing on Melissa. "Melissa, looking just as beautiful as ever."
"Save it," Melissa scoffed. "What are you doing here, we're busy."
Geshp chuckled, his devilish grinned growing wider. "I'm sure you are," he said. "However, i have business. Both professional and personal."
"Talk," Casseus spat. "Then leave."
Geshp nodded, slowly standing as he began to stroll through Casseus's office. Standing before Casseus picture window, Geshp now gazed out at the city below.
"Before I get to business I wished to congratulate you. After all these years, S.P.E.A.R was finally able to prove who ordered the attack on Connor Moreland. Better yet, since Rick is dead the case is dead in the water. All that has been done is show the Morelands and the vampires that Wyatt Tepes did not order the attack. You should have nothing left to worry about in regards to that matter."
"And to think you doubted what Dustin could do," Melissa smirked. "All my husband needed to do was hack into S.P.E.A.R's video feed and reveal Hannibal's location. Our work was untraceable, better than whatever half baked plot you could come up with demon."
"It's devil but I'll forgive your ignorance in the matter," Geshp replied. "You should know though that this entire matter has introduced a new player into the game."
"And who would that be?" Casseus asked.
"Tom Harris, I'm sure you remember him."
Casseus frowned. Having any of the Harris family involved in anything he was even remotely connected to was a nuisance. While the dark wizard had a particular interest and dislike for Yuriko Harris, Tom could be seen as more problematic. The young man was intelligent and driven. With the resources of S.P.E.A.R the wizard could prove to be a thorn in his side going forward.
"Not an ideal situation," Casseus grumbled. "However, I can deal with Tom Harris if need be. His sister, if she were ever to become more serious with her talents could prove a challenge."
"And thankfully for you two, she is more interested in playing house with some boy going to med school."
Casseus and Melissa were quiet, still glaring at the devil.
"If all you wished to do is tell us that you covered your ass as well as my husband's then I think our business is concluded," Melissa growled. "I believe it's time for you to leave."
"Oh but I have so many other questions," Geshp replied. Casseus and Melissa simply rolled their eyes making their way behind Casseus's desk as they now sat across from Geshp.
"Get on with it Geshp I'm busy," Casseus groaned.
"What can you tell me about the Seraphim?"
"The what?" Melissa asked.
"Seraphim," Geshp repeated. "Apparently there is a new player in this little game of ours. S.P.E.A.R and the wizards have taken a notice or at least they're about to."
"I have no idea what you are talking about," Casseus said. "And even if I did, why ask?"
"Because my lovely director is interested in their identity," Geshp stated. "And I volunteered to see what I could find by talking to my favorite....confidential informant."
"Confidential informant," Melissa exclaimed. "How dare you! Do we look like common street thugs to you?"
"No," Geshp countered. "More like well connected individuals who would know or wish to know about possible rivals. After all, this....Seraphim is targeting those with a unique nature. How long before they began to investigate someone such as yourself Casseus?"
As Melissa looked to argue, Casseus raised a hand, quieting his wife for the moment. Slowly the dark wizard now leaned forward, his eyes narrowed.
"I am going to be perfectly clear when I say this," Casseus growled. "So that even a degenerate pit spawn such as yourself understands. I have no idea who this Seraphim is and if they were foolish enough to seek out myself or my wife.... it would be the last mistake they ever made."
"I love it when you talk dirty." Geshp grinned.
Slowly the devil now stood, his eyes pools of inky darkness as he stared at both Melissa and Casseus. "Perhaps," he mused. "After all you're almost as impressive as I. Still, if you hear anything please call. S.P.E.A.R is taking the matter quite seriously. Hate for anything to happen to my favorite power couple."
Casseus and Melissa watched as Geshp arrogantly stride towards the door, the mere presence of the devil annoying them.
"Oh, one last thing," Geshp called. "Make sure you cover your tracks if you happen to get involved with any...dog shows. My experience tells me that hounds will quickly come to heel if put in a compromising position."
As the devil exited the office, Casseus folded his hands, resting his chin as he thought deeply.
"Is everything okay?" Melissa asked.
"Yes," Casseus said flatly. "However, I need you to talk with Alpha and Choon Hee. Make sure that nothing connects us to the Amberhills and find out whatever you can about this...Seraphim. I have a feeling whoever they are, they are about to become an issue we cannot ignore."
