Andre paused using his phone and just pondered what had happened. Was he just being paranoid? How did he know whether the app was accurate? Perhaps it was just generating random sentences, but then how did it know every bodies names? And the dots on the screen did seem to represent the arrangement of people in the room. He tried to forget about the app and just concentrate on what his friends were talking about. Nisha was talking about her new job as a receptionist and of bumping into some of her old school friends. People Andre did not know. His concentration wandered once more.

Nisha who was listening said "If Andre's away, why don't you come over to our place for dinner on Tuesday? As you know it's River's actual birthday. I was planning to just get some takeaway. You could join us if you want a bit of company"
No! This was backfiring! Andre cut in "Didn't you just say you were planning to have an intimate evening at home. I'm sure Jess wouldn't want to impose herself on you"
It was River who replied, with a big smile on his face "Jess would never be an imposition. We'd love to have you around Jess. Just bring yourself and we will give you a bit of company"
"Why I'd love to come around. That's if it's alright with you of course Andre? You don't mind if I spend a bit of time with Nisha and River do you?"
What could Andre say? He was envious and suspicious. He didn't like that River was lusting after his girlfriend and he didn't like that Jess was enjoying the attention River was giving her, but if he objected.... They would think he was controlling....Damn... In the end he replied "Sure. Why not? Enjoy yourself"
When the conversation moved on Andre got back on his phone to see what his friends were really thinking. Clicking on Jess's dot came up with the sentence 'Jess is happy that she has Andre's blessing'
Pressing River's dot came up with 'River is really really looking forward to Tuesday'
Lastly Nisha's dot came up with 'Nisha is excited that everything is falling into place'
Frustrated at not being able to get the complete picture Andre clicked his own dot. 'Andre is unaware that his friends are planning a tryst'.
Puzzled and somewhat mystified, Andre refreshed the app. It now read 'Andre is aware that his friends are planning a tryst'
"Fuck! I knew it!" Andre exclaimed out loud. His outburst caught the attention of the restaurant. A waiter frowned at Andre and Nisha gave him a look of contempt
"Watch your language Andre. We are in a public place" said Jess. She looked cross as well.
"Excuse me. I need to go and think about something" Andre replied tersely. He walked out to the car park. He needed to cool himself.
Eventually he got his breathing under control. He looked at the last message in the app. He knew it was 100% correct. How could Jess do this to him? How could River, who he thought was his best mate, do this to him? He knew it was Nisha's fault. She had put them up to this. Nisha had never made a secret of the fact she thought Andre was a loser.
In frustration he looked at the dots on the map again and pressed, harder than he needed to on the three dots close together where Andre had recently been sitting. He generated another sentence "Andre's 3 friends are wondering how he found out about their plans"
"I'll teach you!" he exclaimed loudly as he changed one of the words.
