An anthropomorphic otter man was standing near a large fountain located in the middle of the park. His eyes were wide open and he looked too afraid to even speak to anyone. His head continually jerked to the left and to the right as if he was assessing every person, more specifically, animal person that walked near him. After watching him for a while, the anthro raccoon knew that this mustelid must also be as aware as he was. The question was: Was he a human turned anthro animal or an animal turned anthro?
The raccoon had no real way of knowing unless he asked him. So, he began to walk slowly to the fountain.
The otter instantly noticed his presence. His eyes bulged and he began to tremble and shake as the raccoon man came closer to him. The raccoon held his hands up as a sign of peace and began speaking, “Listen, I know you’re afraid, but I can help you. I’m also aware of how everything was before it changed… how things were when they were normal.”
His words seem to pacify the otter as he begin to relax, his expression becoming more relaxed as he eyed the procyonid closely.
For a while, the two only looked at one another before the otter decided to break the silence. “S-so, y-you… remember everything… like b-before?” the otter nervously asked.
The anthro raccoon man nodded in response.
“Wh-why did this happen?” the otter said, now looking as if on the verge of tears; as his fear dissipated, sadness begun to replace it.
“I don’t know. I was normal up until this morning. Then, all of a sudden, I was an anthropomorphic raccoon,” the raccoon man replied.
The otter nodded his head. “Me too. I was n-normal at least until this morning.”
Another silence followed before the raccoon finally asked the otter the question that was on his mind. “Were you a human or an animal before you transformed?”
