Nate ran across the yard and leapt over the wooden fence with ease, landing on the dewy grass on the other side with a soft thud. He ran into the woods, his heart soaring as he was amazed how fast he could move now. He stopped at a tree and decided to test his new claws, giving the tree a few swipes and cutting through the bark with ease. He looked at the result and then down to his hands with awe.
He leapt onto a large fallen oak tree and paused for a moment as he let his new werewolf instincts take over. A light breeze blew through the forest, rustling the tree branches overhead. With it brought new scents he took in. Scents that meant only one thing to him: prey.
Nate carefully moved through the forest trying to make as little sound as possible as he followed the scent. He stopped near a tree and finally saw his target, a young deer sipping water from a small brook that ran through the forest. He bided his time waiting for the opportune moment to strike. He watched as the doe dipped down for another sip and pounced. The doe immediately sensed danger and fled, leaving the werewolf to fall flat on his face in the mud and dead leaves. He wasn’t going to give up that easy and was quickly on his feet again, chasing the young deer through the woods. He was gaining on the deer when it broke through the woods and into a clearing. Nate stopped at the edge of the woods when he saw that also in the clearing were three people roughly his age stargazing in the field, complete with telescopes. Suddenly, his wolfish instincts subsided and he came back to his senses. He wasn’t sure how they’d react to seeing him like this so he opted to head back home, figuring he’d had his fun.
As Nate walked back up the house, he spotted Miss Angie sitting on the back patio waiting for him. She was beaming as she watched the young werewolf walk up. “Oh my, being out in the moonlight definitely agreed with you. You look even wolfier than when you left. We better get you cleaned up though.”
Nate gave a nod and low growl of approval and walked inside. In the bathroom off of his bedroom, he flipped on the shower and as he was waiting for the water to warm up, he checked himself out in the mirror. Miss Angie wasn’t kidding either. His face was far more beastly, with larger and sharper fangs. His fur was thicker and shaggier and his claws were longer and sharper. He bared his fangs and made some menacing growls to his reflection in the mirror that turned into a grin and gravely laugh.
As he stepped into the shower, the warm water felt good on him as he washed away all the dirt and mud he had accumulated that night. He squirted a large amount of shampoo into his hand and worked into as much fur as he could reach. The scent in the room was a curious mix of the citrus scent of his shampoo and wet dog, which Nate couldn't help but find a little amusing.
After the shower, he stepped out and tried toweling off but quickly realized that probably wasn’t the best solution. He reached into the cabinet below and pulled out a hairdryer. He plugged it in and turned it on. Feeling the warm air work its way through his fur felt amazing.
He turned off the bedroom light and started heading for bed when he heard a knock on the bedroom door.
“Come in,” growled Nate as he stood in the middle of the bedroom in all his furry, werewolf glory.
Miss Angie stuck her head in and smiled as she took in Nate from his digitigrade paws to his pointy, lupine ears. “Did you have a great night?”
Nate couldn’t help but beam. “It was a dream come true.”
“Good, now I want you to start thinking about what else you want to turn into during our time together. The sky is quite literally the limit. Good night.”
“Good night,” growled Nate as he watched Miss Angie close the bedroom door. He climbed into bed and as he drifted off to sleep, running his fingers through his fur, he did wonder what else he wanted to turn into. Heck, it’d be quicker to let her know what he didn’t want to turn into.
