I ache from everywhere. Sleeping on the ground was certainly not as comfortable as a bed, but at least I managed to avoid contact with any object. My bones still cracked as I stretched though. I after managing to pull myself together and make me look decently proper, I headed to the outside of my room, carefully not touching the door once again. I guess that everyone is already at our meeting point, as I don't hear anything from the other dorms. I walk through the central area againg, it's high ceiling giving me morning vertigo. My eyes wander to the fourth door, where I can spot the small table clock that now indicates 7:08 am. I start hearing chatter from the living area as I come closer to it. Soon enough, I find myself standing in front of the kitchen door, the voice of the others echoing from within. I manage to collect my toughts, before heading in.
Samilla: Oh come on! Just let me touch it! I wanna see!
Abigail: No no and no! How many times to I have to tell you! It's not because I changed that I'm not a human being anymore! I deserve my privacy and own vital space!
Samilla: Are you sure? I think you would like it! My cat always love when I scratch him behind the ears!
Abigail: I said no!
In the room, the whole group was assembled, a table seems to be set in the center, with multiple chairs. Most of them were already seated, except Farim, who was standing apart, and Hadley, who is just standing near the entrance.
Trevor: Ladies, could you please stop squabbling around? Samilla, just leave her alone. Her change is a lot to take in.
Samilla: Ooohhh... But I wanted to pet the cat!
Abigail: I'm not a cat!
Hadley walked to my side, an amused look on her face.
Hadley: They've been doing this for the past hour or so... Did you get a good night of sleep?
Myself: Y-yeah... thanks for asking...
Revand: I swear if you two don't stop bickering I'm going to lose it! Oh hey Vivian, hadn't seen you there. Sorry for these two... Abigail had difficulty accustoming herself to her new body, and Samilla tries to find "solutions" to help her or something...
Myself: Oh... I see?
Abigail: Stop touching!
Samilla: But look! It's a natural motion of the tail! It shou-
Abigail: I said STOP TOUCHING!
And with that, Abigail took her own tails in her two hands, taking it from Samilla.
Revand: *Sigh* Well, now that this is done and that we're all here, we should think this through for real. First of all, as anyone experienced any change during their sleep? Anything can be crucial information, so don't leave any detail out.
Samilla: No, I've slept like an baby on my princess bed! There was nothing of note.
Trevor: Me neither, this was a fairly good night of sleep.
Hadley: Same for me.
Abigail: Well... It was hard to sleep on the back when you crush your tail while doing so! But I didn't feel any other changes...
Farim was completely disinterested and was not even looking at us.
Revand: And since I've not felt anything either, that pretty much makes all the beds safe to use.
Well... I didn't touch mine... But I can't really tell them that I've slept on the floor by fear of anything happening to me!
Revand: I think that assembling here every morning could only be beneficial to our cause. This could make us interact a minimum with each other while keeping a lookout for a change on the others body and ours. Plus, we can also talk about our advancement on the search for an exit, if theres any that is.
Trevor: I guess that you're right... But how can we be sure that we don't get transformed around? We wouldn't want any... anything more to happen to us...
Revand: I guess that there is no actual way to tell... We should just try to not touch any items, furnitures or anything in general. Also, I figured that we won't be using the storage room a lot, so if you find a transformative object, we should try to throw it in that room, so that we minimize the risks of someone else getting it.
Hadley: Since the door of the room itself does transform... I guess that make sense.
Revand: Also, using the facilities here might be tempting, but Tristan probably made the most useful objects in here the ones that might change us, so keep it limited.
Abigail: Okay, but since when are you the boss?
Revand: I-I beg your pardon?!
Abigail: I mean... You're here ordering us around, did we get an election or something while I was asleep? Because I don't remember voting for you.
Revand: I-I just tought that... it would be great if we had a leader of some sorts and... since I got a more than average mental performance I thought that I would be a good candidate for the job...
Abigail: Yeah right! Your here all hopeful with your exits and all... You're like all politicians: a liar. Even if I got out of here, what would the world think of me? My family, my friends, my fans... They will only think of me as an oddity! As a monster! As a... cat....
Revand: I understand your concern, but we must at least try something out! With a little luck, Tristan lied about the changes being permanent!
I highly doubt that. Tristan didn't lie about anything yet, so I have few hopes over that last hypothesis. And the others seemed of the same opinion. The room got silent all of a sudden, reflecting our depair and thoughts. This silence got interrupted by a strange rumbling, coming from Samilla's direction.
Samilla: Well... we should at least eat something! We're here for breakfast right? That's why that's our morning meeting room?
Revand: I did think of that part during the choice. Maybe there is some great food in the fridge over there?
Samilla got up of her chair and headed to the fridge, but at one step from opening it, she stopped.
Samilla: How do I know... if this thing won't change me?
Silence once more.
