Tanner and his friends, Sam and Rick were almost done with school that day. They're a class apart from a perfect weekend without homework and a 3 day long sleepover planned from Friday to Sunday. Tanner parents are going to a wedding to a different state and despite their son is recently 13 years old, they decided he can handle it by himself and they didn't hire a babysitter. Just occasional visits from Tanner's uncle from time to time.
The preteens were talking all week about that weekend, Sam got some new videogames and Rick can use his sister's streaming account to watch several very gory movies. They even have saved enough money to buy all the snack and drinks they can afford. It's a weekend that is never going to happen again. "Last class is physical education, easy." Rick told his friends, they weren't into sports but they occasionally liked to play basketball and baseball.
When they arrived to the school's gym they noticed that the teacher, or better said the coach wasn't alone, the biology teacher was next to him and she had two weird looking devices at hands. Also, the students were separated in two group, boys to the left and girls to the right. It wasn't a regular PE class but it didn't matter to Tanner and his friends if they're going to be free in a few hours. They instinctively took place at the boy side.
"Good afternoon, students." The coach said. "You must be wondering why is Mrs. Martinez here and why are you divided in boys and girls, right?" His manly voice echoed through the gym's walls. Mrs. Martinez gave him one of the devices she had at hands and he kept talking. "Well, it's because we're going to give you the always awkward talk about..." He sighed. "Puberty." All of the students grimaced. Awkward wasn't enough to describe it.
"So, boys you're going to get the talk with me while Mrs. Martinez is going to help me with the girls." The biology teacher smiled while she looked around at the female students. She even made a few steps closer to them. "You must be wondering what are these things at our hands, but first, we are going to move to the locker rooms. Girls, go with Mrs. Martinez. Boys, you follow me." The students exchanged some glances while they followed the teachers.
Tanner, Rick and Sam were the last ones to come in the male locker room. Some students even same ready to change their clothing but the coach told him it wasn't necessary yet. They took seat on the benches and the coach closed the door. "Ok, I know this awkward but is necessary for your education. Even your parents have agreed with this and for the smart ones that think they already know about the subject. You're not expecting this."
"This device is called the Chronoswap. It's quite expensive but we got two from the government to try a pilot program that intends to help kids and preteens to understand about growing up and adult life first-hand." The boys seemed confused but the coach kept talking. "This device can transfer years of life from a person to another, and Mrs. Martinez and I did our homework and our Chronoswaps are charged with a lot years we took from people."
"That means..." Sam said while he started to realize what is this leading to. "Yes, Sam. We're going to transfer these years to you, so you're going to grown up and experience puberty... and other stuff from a first hand perspective." The boys gasped, it was too unbelievable to even consider it was possible. "You're going to stay like that for the weekend and then you're going to make a report for the next class. Don't worry, your parents had agreed with this."
"But we had plans for the weekend!" Tanner shouted in reply. His perfect weekend is going to be ruined if they're going to be turned into middle age man or elderly people. He definitely won't accept that, but then he realized why his parents agreed to don't hire a babysitter. "They knew about this!" He told to his friends. "My parents, your parents! They already knew this was going to happen! They tricked us!!"
"I see you're quite excited, Tanner." The coach said after hearing Tanner shouting to his friends. "So, you're going to be the first one to try the device. I need to give you a talk about body changes, hormones and more, so you can even be our model while I give my lecture." The coach grinned while he started set the device. "No, no, no. Please, no." Tanner didn't want to be embarrassed in front of his classmates. "Don't worry, Tanner. You might get a surprise or two about yourself!"
