Nowhere near close to how Jennifer was aware of who she'd been, Felicity, except for one or two minor instances which were quickly forgotten, was oblivious to ever being Alan. Watching as the others left with Lucy, she wondered what was up and why she wasn't included. Stung by this, she was tempted to follow, but then decided they had their reasons, and if they wanted to include her, they'd do so when they felt ready.
When all but Lucy and Jennifer returned, she casually asked them, "What's up?"
Diana, Tanya, and Natalie shared a look amongst themselves as they wondered how and if they should tell the girl they knew the truth. Each still thinking Felicity ought to be punished, beyond what Lucy had done, it was Tanya who smiled, flopped down on the couch next to her and commented, "Not much."
Natalie sitting down on the other side of her said, "Jennifer wanted to ask something, and it actually took the four of us to sort it out," as Diana sat the furthest away and refused to look at Felicity.
Something about the way they were acting seemed off to Felicity. Thinking it might be because she had done something, she wanted to ask if she had. But, changing her mind, certain it couldn't be because of something she'd done, she mentally shrugged and asked, "Anything I can do to help?"
"Nope, we have it all sorted," Natalie answered.
Feeling still as if something was not right, Felicity peered at the three girls. Noting how Diana refused to look at her, as well as the looks on Tanya and Natalie's face, Felicity wondered what was up. Certain something was, she tried to figure out and why the others were behaving the way they had. A part of her going back to the computer programme Lucy had shown them, she wondered if the way everyone was acting was in some way connected to the Chronivac. Mulling over her own reaction, how, for a brief moment, she had felt as if she was someone else, and they were trying to warn her about something, Jennifer's reaction and what she'd said, which Felicity discovered she couldn't remember the exact words, only they'd sound weird, she also considered the excitement she'd felt upon learning, and seeing, what the computer programme could do. Believing the way everyone was behaving had to be in some way connected to it, she asked herself, "In what way? And, why?"
Before she could get too far in her train of thought, she heard a door open, whilst next to her, Natalie exclaimed, "Pizza's here," leapt up off the couch and left the room.
The other's following her, Felicity was slow to get up. Glancing at the television, thinking she should pause the movie, she decided against it, as she thought the others would bring the pizza in here and eat it whilst watching. Following after the others, her thoughts on various things, she almost bumped into Lucy. Excusing herself, she was about to go around her, when she changed her mind and instead asked Lucy, "Everything all right.
Again, she got the distinct impression something was amiss, even as Lucy said otherwise. Inquiring where Jennifer was, and if she was also all right, Lucy replied, "She'll be along in a minute. She just needs a moment to herself," before heading into the kitchen where the other three and her aunt were already dishing up.
Alone with her thoughts, Felicity tried to tell herself everything was all right and she was making something out of nothing. But unable to accept this, she headed toward the office. Passing the bathroom, seeing it was shut, and hearing what sounded like someone moving about inside, she almost stopped to knock and determine if everything was all right, as she was certain it was Jennifer she was hearing. Continuing past, she entered the office, headed for the computer, and thinking about the Chronivac and how it might make everything better, she woke the computer up, was glad no password was needed, and pulled up her profile.
Inside the bathroom, Jennifer remained sitting on the edge of the tub, fidgeting with her skirt. Every so often, she lifted it up to stare at the shorts attached underneath. Seeing what she already knew, that what she saw confirmed she was a girl, after some time of doing this, she began to ask herself what this meant when it came to her attraction to someone of the same sex and gender.
"Someone who has the same privates as me, who's body produces the same hormones, who dresses like a girl, who sees themselves as a girl, knows they are," she started to think to herself, then stopped. Dropping her skirt back down, she smoothed the garment over her flat groin.
Oblivious to how reality was still altering around her, the way Lucy had completely forgotten there having ever been a Jeff, how for herself, the thought of ever having been someone else, let alone someone named Jeff, had faded to the back of her mind, like a dream, lost upon waking, and even then, it was fading even more, and in minutes any notion of having been Jeff would be gone for good, Jennifer continued to mull over her own self-discovery. Deciding after a bit she couldn't sit in a bathroom and mope just because she learned she was gay, "And what is wrong with being so," she asked herself at one point, only to decide, there wasn't anything, she stood. Exiting the bathroom, smelling fresh, delivered, pizza, she smiled and focusing on the sleep over, the friends she'd met and made, she headed for the kitchen.
