The four Harris siblings all sat down together on their couch while Ikuro and Nyx sat in separate chairs. Mika was pacing back and forth while Claudia was standing there tapping her foot waiting for her wife to speak to their kids. They had just heard that the 'Seraphim' killer was the daughter of Ezekiel Kane and that had unnerved both of them, more so Mika than Claudia. Claudia grabbed her wife by her shoulders and motioned for her to take in deep breaths before she spoke.
"Alright, I'm fine honey, I'm fine." Mika reassured Claudia before she looked at her kids again.
"I know you three were very little when the man known as Ezekiel Kane came to our house." Mika began speaking to Aaron, Haley, and Kari who nodded their heads at the vague memory they had of the scary man who came in to attack Nat and Rei while they babysat them.
"He was a very evil man, who had no chance of ever being redeemed. I don't know what his daughter is like, or...if she even realizes the legacy she carries. But we do know that she has been doing cruel and unspeakable acts for the past 17 years or so, and I know you all want to help out on this and...." Mika now held Claudia's hand. "Your mom and I want you all to promise us that if you four go out there, you'll stick together and watch out for each other." Mika asked her children.
"Of course mom, we promise." Kari said holding Aaron and Haley's hands.
"We went through a civil war not too long ago, this 'Seraphim' person shouldn't be too bad." Mason said with a confident smile as Mika got on her knees and looked her youngest son in the eye. Seeing the look on his mother's face, Mason faltered. Whoever this Ezekiel Kane was, he unnerved his mother's more than any kitsune army.
"Mason, you weren't born yet so you don't know what kind of cruel person Ezekiel was. Imagine if Caleb or Connor Moreland was a dark reflection of themselves. Hurting innocent supernatural beings instead of helping them." Mika explained to her son. A solemn expression now formed on the teens face. Over the years he had watched what Caleb had done while simply training his brother. Caleb was perhaps the greatest fighter he had ever seen. Couple that with Connor's recent feats in soundly defeating the Amberhills and the gravity of the situation became apparent.
"He almost hurt your big brother and sisters. Now you must promise me, if you....if you go out there and help your siblings that you'll stay beside them at all times in your hybrid form with Fenrir. Because I don't....I can't....I won't.....want to think about what could happen to you, if my precious little baby boy was hurt or....or worse...." Mika asked as tears now filled her eyes as it did Mason as he never liked to see his mother cry like this.
"I promise, I promise mom, I'll stay right with them. You can count on me." Mason promised as Mika gave her youngest son a big hug and the two of them cried into each other's arms.
Claudia now looked towards Nyx and Ikuro.
"Nyx, I hope you'll also stay beside Aaron and help him out however you can." Claudia said as Nyx smiled and nodded her head. Claudia now turned her attention towards Ikuro.
"You can rest assured Mrs. Harris, I will not let anything happen to any of your children. I'll watch Mason as if he were my own little brother as well as watch over Haley as well." Ikuro promised as Haley smiled at that promise.
"Good, so shake on it?" Claudia asked as Ikuro grasped Claudia's hand to shake it but Claudia held tightly onto Ikuro's hand. The kitsune now raised an eyebrow, the woman's grip like a vice. "You better hold onto your promise Ikuro, because if you think my brother in-law can be scary," Claudia said as she shifted into her flaming tigress form. "You DON'T want to see what I can be when I'm scary." Claudia growled as she shifted back into her human leaving Ikuro a little shaken as Haley came over and patted Ikuro on the back.
"I know, my moms our very protective of all of us." Haley said as she kissed Ikuro on the cheek to calm him down a little.
