With the option to roll the clock back, Felicity stared at the screen and considered how far back she wanted to go. Deciding she didn't want to go too far back, she also figured it'd be best to only go back a little way, "If it is even possible," she thought as she set the clock back two hours, changed her mind, and set it to three pm.
Still not sure what would happen, but thinking it'd be best to start from when school let out and see if things played out different, she made a final check of her profile, made sure she was the only one aware of the change, her profile would be deleted, adjusted a few areas she saw might be problematic, hit save, then initiated the change. Leaning back in the chair, wondering what would happen, she suddenly felt weird, as if the chair, or the world was spinning, tilting, and closing her eyes, she grimaced as the sensation grew.
Memories played out in her head of the past hours, and she at first accepted them, then began to question them. Her thoughts shifting, she soon began to think of them as her mind concocting scenarios of what might happen when she was to meet Natalie, as the girl had invited her to a sleep over. Her leeriness of the coming evening growing, as she'd just moved to town some time ago and hadn't expected to potentially make so many new friends at once, Felicity considered maybe backing out. Hearing a bell ring somewhere, her eyes snapped open and she peered around at the library, then at the computer in front of her.
The class project she'd been working on still pulled up, she frowned at it as she tried to sort of what was real and what was in her mind. Coming to the conclusion somehow both were, she couldn't help herself as she grinned and whispered, "It worked."
Oblivious to how she'd helped Lucy completely delete Alan from existence, Felicity reached out for the mouse, dragged it over to the save option and clicked on it. Hearing the sounds of doors open, other students exiting class, she ejected her USB flash drive, stored it in her backpack, and stood. Logging off her school profile, feeling as if she had now had an opportunity to do a better job at something she’d somehow mucked up, even as she still felt unsure about the coming sleep over, Felicity Blythe shouldered her pack. Exiting the library, she joined the throng of students as she headed for her locker. There, she got her jacket, and closing the locker, she was surprised when Natalie suddenly materialised out the crowd and asked, "Hey, you still coming tonight?"
Her uncertainty still gripping her tight, Felicity shrugged and replied, "I am, though, I'm kind off leery. What if I do something which says I shouldn't hang out with them? They don’t like me?"
"Relax, it'll be fine. I'm certain Lucy and the others with like you. And, hey, guess what, you're not the only new girl. I heard from Tanya, who heard from Lucy, Diana is also bringing someone she met. A girl named Jennifer Grace. Never thought I'd ever meet someone with two first names," Natalie gushed out, a smile on her face.
There was something about the name Jennifer Grace which stirred within her something she couldn't quite explain. Deciding it was nothing, Felicity choose to ignore it as she and Natalie started walking, commenting as they did, "Well, since I shan't be the only newb there, cool."
Crowd thinning as the school cleared out for the day, and as they left the building and cut across the playground and into the woods separating the grounds from a tract of houses, the two girls talked about the evening to come as Natalie told what she could about Diana, Tanya, and Lucy. When they reached the corner of Green and 3rd Circle, Natalie commented, "See you in about an hour?" to which Felicity nodded, got the address for Lucy's place, and it was agreed they'd meet up on the way over.
Home, Felicity let herself into the two-story house her parents had bought. Dropping her bag next to the door, she went to the kitchen, found a note from her mother saying she and Felicity's father were working late and wished her luck and enjoyment at her sleep over. Collecting an apple from the fridge, Felicity munched on it as she headed up to the attic, which had been converted into a bedroom which sprawled the entire length of the house, with one area closed off as a full bathroom. Collecting a duffel bag from off the top of her wardrobe, she packed it for the weekend, and after giving it some thought, changed out of her school clothes and put on a pair of black leggings with metallic-coloured unicorns printed on them and a shirt with a unicorn on the front. Slipping back on her shoes, she collected her bag, headed back downstairs, left her parents a note confirming she was going to Lucy's sleep over, and after pulling on her jacket, headed out to meet Natalie.
