Chris parked his car around 6:30 in the vacant lot used for fairgrounds parking. There were few other cars, and he was pretty sure most of them belonged to members of the wrestling federation, though there were a few other people, clearly fans of the product eagerly talking about the upcoming show.
As he neared the fairgrounds entrance gate, he spotted Jack and headed over to him. "Hey, good to see you again. By the way, man, I want to apologize again about earlier today, I was a real asshole," Chris said, shaking Jack's hand in a firm 'hello'.
"No problem," Jack replied, "I've been through the same thing a million times. People either get wrestling or they don't; there's no middle ground."
The fairground gates opened, and people began to queue up into a line, one that actually seemed to be quite a bit longer than Chris had expected. "Well, we may as well get in line so we can get better seats," Chris said, and Jack nodded his agreement.
The line moved slowly through the gate, causing both men to wonder what exactly was causing the hold up. But as they got nearer to the turnstile, they noticed that a couple of secuirity men were checking the ID's of everyone who walked through, as well as patting them down for contraband. It was then Chris noticed a sign on the gate that read "18 and Older Only".
"That's kind of weird," Chris remarked, "I've never heard of an adults only wrestling show."
"Now that I think about it, I think I recall hearing something about them doing adult only shows," said Jack, "But I didn't think they did them ALL the time."
Chris and Jack presented their ID's when it was their turn, and there was no incident. Neither one was roughed up by the security guards either, though Chris felt a bit uneasy as they searched him lightly. There was something almost predatory about them.
As they passed through the gates, large hand painted signs pointed them in the direction of the ring, bathrooms, and merchandise areas. People were milling around rather aimlessly.
