Jeff and Amy had checked in at the front desk of the inn and were guided to their room at the inn. Amy was amazed by it and so was Jeff, it would seem that the husband side of him had gone all out and had gotten a room with comfortable plush furnishing, a bottle of wine near the mini-fridge, chocolate covered strawberries, and lovely freshly smelling floral decor. Jeff looked to see that their romance package also included a candlelit dinner for the two of them.
"Oh Jeff, it's amazing. Doesn't it just remind you of our honeymoon?" Amy asked leaning on his arm as the thought of the two of them having sex came into Jeff's mind like it was just yesterday. Although it technically wasn't true, he found that he was having trouble remembering more and more of his old life as a teenager and his adult memories were beginning to seem like reality to him. What's more, every moment he spent with Amy, he was seeing her less as the sister she once was, and more of the wife she currently was. He looked down at his wedding ring and suddenly the memory of their wedding all came to him at once.
He remembered the beautiful spring day he proposed to her at their favorite spot in the park. How thrilled Amy had been, and their friends and family all attending the wedding. Then he thought once more of their wedding night and how glorious it had been for the two of them. He shook the idea off when Amy had said something to him.
"I'm sorry darling, what did you say?" Jeff asked.
"I asked you if you wanted to get changed into your swim wear first?" Amy asked as Jeff looked at the bathroom and nodded.
He then proceeded inside the bathroom and started changing into his swim trunks and held his hand over his head and shook it, it all still felt unreal to him. Although him and Amy weren't related by blood anymore, but by marriage, it still felt a little wrong to him.
'She's your wife, it's not wrong.' A voice said to him.
Jeff looked around and then into the mirror to see his reflection talking back to him.
'Yeah, it's me, the husband side of you that you keeping fighting back against.' Jeff's reflection said to him.
"But Amy and I are..." Jeff began to respond quietly so as to not worry Amy.
'Happily Married with a 16 year-old daughter to prove it. The days of the two of you being siblings is over.' Jeff's reflection said to him.
"No it's not. This is meant to be temporary, only for the week." Jeff said to his reflection.
'Really? But everyone seems a lot happier don't they? Mary was sad and alone before Joey, now they're happily married and are now Amy's parents and have a grandchild that they're proud of. Jamie had to deal with the loss of her husband, now she gets a chance to start over again as a teenager and meet new friends, maybe even a boyfriend.' Jeff's reflection said to him.
"Boyfriend? I'm not letting my little girl date." Jeff suddenly said as his adult side took over and made the same movements in the mirror as he did before shaking it off.
'Plus, it was hard enough for Jamie to take care of three kids alone. Now it's just you and Amy raising Jamie. Why not celebrate what you two have?' Jeff's adult side suggested as Amy knocked on the door.
"Jeff, dear, are you almost done?" Amy asked from the other side.
"Oh, yeah, sorry, I just..." Jeff looked to the mirror to only see his own reflection. "I just had to go real quick." Jeff said flushing the toilet.
He opened the door and let Amy into the bathroom as he sat down on the bed looking at the room. It was a place for any couple to come in and have a wild night. Soon, Jeff wouldn't have any excuses left with himself and Amy, he might have to go the distance after all.
"How do I look?" Amy said stepping out of the bathroom and showing off her swimsuit. Jeff's heart began beating seeing his beautiful wife before him and came over and gently took Amy in his arms as they followed up on their kiss from the parking lot and kissed each other with their tongues and felt each other's body.
"Oh....wow!" Amy said after a minute when she broke off the kiss with him.
"If that's a preview of what's to come tonight, I can't wait. I think I'll order the 'special' from you after our dinner date tonight." Amy said as she motioned for Jeff to follow him as if she were a siren to the water. Jeff followed Amy and began thinking about what his reflection said, it seemed like everyone was starting to adjust to their roles.
