(Earlier That Evening, in a Bar)
After her work, Kate met her best friend Annie at a bar downtown. The two had been close since elementary school and still went out together whenever they could.
After a bit of small talk, Kate leaned in and said, “I need to tell you something weird. Last night, Stanley and I watched this strange video. It came in an email with no sender info. There was this woman talking about something called The Cult of Lesbos.”
Annie tilted her head. “The Cult of Lesbos? Hmm… no, that doesn't ring a bell. I like the name, though… Wait! I think I remember now! Kate leaned forward, intrigued. “So… tell me more about Louise.”
“Well, I met her five weeks ago. We went on a few dates. She’s a French exchange student studying psychology. I really like her—she’s gorgeous, but completely nuts. Maybe she picked psychology to figure herself out.” Annie paused and lowered her voice. “Don’t tell anyone, but when we’re alone… she likes to dress up as a French maid and wants me to be her ‘Mistress’. She loves being submissive.”
Kate laughed. “I can’t picture you as a dominatrix. You’ve always been such a sweet girl.”
“It’s just roleplay!” Annie said, blushing. “Nothing serious. Anyway, why don’t you and Stanley come over on Saturday evening? We’ll have dinner, and you can meet Louise.”

“Okay, what about Friday night?”
“Sure,” Kate agreed. “We’ll bring dessert.”
They chatted for another hour. As they left the bar, Kate’s phone buzzed. She had just received a new email—with another attached video.
“Look,” Kate said, opening it and showing the screen to Annie. The woman from the previous video was there again—Emily—wearing the same black bikini. She spoke less than before and danced more. The dance was slow, sensual, and hypnotic. Annie and Kate watched until the end… then played it again.
