“I know something you may like.” Said May as she took you by the hand and led you toward one of the larger booths located on the main floor. The line outside of the booth was massive, it actually wrapped around the booth multiple times. “I booked an appointment a head of time so we don’t have to wait in that God offer line.”
May led you up to a small podium where a women who was putting on a fake smile, clearly she was here just for the pay check.
“We have an appointment….” Said May as she gave her last name. The women nodded her head before lifting a small chain and let them pass into the booth.
The booth was full of some rather impressive mermaid and merman tails, there were different types and came in every color imaginable.
What got your attention was a large machine located in the back of the booth and took up a large part of the booth. It looked like a massive 3d printer and that was it. As a computer nerd a printer like this really got your attention.
May smiled as she led you up toward a worker.
“We have an appointment, two custom made tails.” Announced May as she again gave an appointment number, as you look at her, you didn’t even know how to swim what did you want with a tail. Then you noticed that the 3rd printer was printing out the tails and doing so at a rather incredible speed. Just having something made by something like this would be cool even if you never put it on.
“Yes, lets take you over to the 3d scanner and then you can make your tails and we can have you being merfolk.” Announced the worker as he led you toward a device which looked like one of those scanners one sees at airport checkpoints.
You watch as a person in front of you was being scanned before being led to another station where the image was brought up and then they began to design their custom-made tails.
“See isn’t this cool.” Said May “I can’t wait to have my own tail.”
“It is impressive technology.” You added as both of you were scanned and led to a booth to design your tails which would be printed by the machine.
What neither of you were aware of and no one else was that the compounds used to make the tails as contaminated with the mermaid virus. Anyone who touched a tail which came off the printer was almost guaranteed to become infected.
