Savannah rolled her eyes. Katerina had been almost obsessively watching the news from Rome. Katerina wasn't an atheist--she had met too many gods for that to be the case--but she had an old Bolshevik contempt for organized religion. "Thinking of converting, dearest?" Savannah smirked.
"No, it's just that I want to fuck all the Cardinals" Katerina replied.

Teresa Menendez had also fantasized about some of the Cardinals (the papabile Filipina was hot!) but as a Catholic she was genuinely interested in what the choice of the first female elected Pope would mean for the future of the Church. No doubt the Holy Spirit would guide the Church in making the right choice as She always had in the past (referring to the third Person of the Trinity as "She" had caught on bigtime since the Great Change) but Teresa knew enough about Church history to know that the right choice wasn't always the obviously right choice.
Robbie, who has started going to Mass with Teresa on Sunday mornings she wasn't too hung over, supported her girlfriend. Teresa was particularly concerned about the sedevacantist movement which held that no Pope should be elected until the time when "manhood returned." Teresa thought this was insanely stupid and even blasphemous--the Great Change had clearly been God's will--but there were rumors that the movement had friends in high places.

"You're not going to believe this one" Kendra began.
"Oh, I'm sure I will." Nancy replied.
"The President, as she seldom ceases to remind us, is a Catholic. Turns out she's also a sedevacantist. Today she asked if Occ-Ops had any ability to block the Papal election."
"OMG! What did you tell her?"
"No, of course. But I'm not sure she bought it."
