Andi thought about escaping. Many times. And he tried, almost as often as he considered the option. But if at first he was dragged back under the laughs of the creatures in the satyr village, it soon made Rycksyn more angry than amused. He got tired of running after him and of spanking him. And that Andy had become Andi, a woman... Well, it would be even more dangerous, let alone with a baby in tow. He was a she now and God knew what other horrid and sordid creatures delved in this world, or even far into the woods, past the little fields and boundaries all villagers knew. Rycksyn was a dastardly guy but Andi knew there must be much worse in the world, especially for a female, human at that. But she could not live forever under Rycksyn's dominance. Tired of her attempts at flight, he kept her chained to a post in the house all night, and most of the day. Enough to allow her to go about doing necessary chores, but nothing else. Oh, he let her go for errands and chores within the village, but not much else. So, fed up with it all, she went to the village elders. All remembered Andy as Andi, a human woman traded by raiders and merchants to Rycksyn in exchange for wool, cheese and bugs that women in cities used as lipstick when crushed. But she explained why she was unhappy and the six old satyrs and fauns gathered to talk about the issue. Undue violence was heavily frowned upon and if Andi HAD tried to escape and been punished, Rycksyn's behaviour made matters worse and made no effort to make his mate's life better. He clearly had not been understanding at all and he was summoned duly. He was told sternly that the environment he created was detrimental to both his mate and child and that he better change soon or else Andi would go to someone else and Penelope not considered his at all. Mates were loved and courted so there were plenty of villagers who would enjoy a new mate, whether as their first one, or second, or third, as well as a new little baby girl. Rycksyn got the point and nodded humbly. Andi hoped things would indeed get better.
