Out in the parking lot, Sarah and Michelle were walking back to Sarah's car, but then stopped.
"When are we going to find a couple of guys to date?" asked Sarah. "I mean, the only two guys we're close to are dating each other."
"Are you upset that they're gay? I didn't know you were ..."
"No. I'm not homophobic. I'm mad that they're in a relationship and we're not."
"Is that a proposal? Because I'm not into girls," Michelle said.
"Oh, ha ha. Very funny," Sarah said. "But I'm serious. When was the last time you had a real relationship with someone? A year? Maybe two?" She paused for a moment. "Oh damn."
"What is it?" her friend asked.
"I think I left my car key in the restaurant. Wait here. I'll be right back," Sarah said, before turning around and walking back.
"No way. I'm not staying out here alone where there's a bunch of creeps around," Michelle said, following her friend back into the restaurant, not realizing that the biggest creep of all was probably in there. After all, whoever was using the One-Word App had already taken away their boyfriends and turned them into a gay couple, and they had no idea that it had happened. Now they were making themselves into potential victims. And whatever happened, they probably wouldn't notice any more than they had before.
