"Okay, what will it be?" said the employee as she looked at her two new customers. Both were tall and chubby, wearing glasses, T-shirts with science fiction logos, and jeans. The girl had ginger hair in two braids, gentle brown eyes, and a generous dusting of freckles over her nose; a pale sliver of chub was showing from under her clingy shirt. The boy on the other hand had messy brown hair, blue eyes, and a generous belly.
Roxanne and Oscar exchanged glances, taking a deep breath. They had thought about this long and hard before coming here.
As, well, chubby, awkward nerds, the idea of being fast animals was appealing. Fast, agile, graceful animals. And the idea of being chased, exhausted, run to ground, and finally swallowed... that idea was driving Oscar wild.
"A fox", said Roxanne. "A red fox. Make it as fast as possible". She grinned at Oscar, making his legs weak.
"They're quite fast already, miss", said the employee with a smile. "And for you? Same thing or...?"
"A rabbit. A cute little white rabbit", Oscar said.
The employee pursed her lips, breathing in sharply. Okay... so they're *that* kind of people. Well. It's not my job to ask questions, she thought. "Alright. And you are aware of the results that might happen if... say... one of you is consumed". She measured her words carefully.
"We are. We read the disclaimers", said Roxanne.
"Then you should be good", said the employee, filling out the paperwork. "I'll get the injections ready. Would you like to change here or wait till you're back at home?"
Roxanne and Oscar looked at each other. They had discussed this as well.
