As Kyle stood frozen in the hallway, the first change ran through him, terrified of what it would be. A ripple ran across his shirt. Turning his red shirt, which had a picture of his favorite rock band on it, into an orange shirt advertising a pop band he vaguely knew. Their music was alright, but he knew more girls listened to it than boys. He shivered. This wasn't a big change, but it was already making waves through his reality. Not wanting to land in hot water with the vice principal again, he quickly headed to class. As he winced as his friend James turned and took in his shirt. "Heh, figured you'd be wearing that."
"What? Why?" Kyle said as he desperately tried to stay calm.
"You didn't know? They're coming here this weekend! With them being your favorite band and all, I figured you knew."
Kyle bluffed his way through the rest of the session while he mulled over this latest revelation. Reality was changing in step with the other changes. This was both a blessing and a curse. He'd be spared the embarrassment of what was surely coming, but his life was a few ripples away from becoming unrecognizable. He shuddered at the thought. Class was boring as always, and he was thankful to leave and go to lunch. He just had to make it through the rest of the day, then he could fake sick for the other two. Surely things wouldn't get too untenable on the first day- he nearly dropped his platter of food as the ripple appeared again! This time heading for his pants!
