Macy looked down as she looked at her stomach, it was perfectly flat now, maybe it did work...or maybe Jeffie was gone. Macy shook her head she didn't know and it was driving her mad. The answer to her ploy came soon after as the computer let out a repeated beep as the screen flashed red. Macy slipped from Anthony's embrace to look at the machine.
"ERROR: PROCESS INTERRUPTED."
"RESTARTING..."
The chronivac beeped again as the count down reappeared. Macy's eyes growing wide. The timer was much longer now, now counting from four days. Macy looked her stomach, expecting something to change. Instead she saw her hair slowly receeding from her shoulders. She was the target now. She'd mess up big time and now she was getting younger! Macy let out a gasp as she looked at the timer again. It was at the same rate as before, most likely a limitation of the machine, she was losing a whole month every thirty minutes. She counted on her fingers, no doubt, four days she'd go from sixteen to nothing.
Macy looked over the screen again, it didn't work the first time with Jeff and it wasn't working now. Macy slammed on the keyboard, if she didn't fix this tonight she'd wake up a year younger, by tomorrow night she'd be back to being twelve, and by the next only eight, then four, before ending up just like baby Jeffie. Macy shuddered, she had to fix this, somehow, atleast she was working with a wider time limit than before. She just needed to think of something.
