Liz went to cheerleading practice at the end of school. As she walked across the athletic fields in her blue and white top and skirt, her knee-length hair swished from side to side. Her tail flickered in excitement.
"Jennifer's not showing up today," Liz explained to the other cheerleaders. "So she asked me to lead practice." She looked around to notice anyone who seemed annoyed or curious about the news, but saw they all seemed fine with it. "All right, then. Let's get ready."
They began their routine stretches and exercises, and once they were prepared for the proper rehearsal, Liz called them together. "We're going to try something new today," Liz said. "Jennifer had the idea, but since she couldn't make it here she gave it to me for us to try out. We're going to be the most interesting squad at the competition this year." Several of the girls muttered to themselves, wondering what was going on. "We've got a new plan," Liz continued. "And it's called the Transform or Dare routine."
"The what?" asked Sarah, a black-haired girl who was the tallest of the team.
"It's very simple," Liz said, counting the passing seconds in her head. "We've got to be unique to be noticed, and there's only one way to do that. I'm proposing a total makeover for us."
"What, like free passes to a beauty spa?" another girl, Claire, joked, wanting to know just what Liz was getting at.
Liz counted off one full minute, then said "Firstly, I dare you all to accept me as the new leader of this squad and be completely loyal to me."
The other girls fell silent as the curse altered their minds, but soon enough Liz was getting encouraging words and nods of acceptance. "Anything you say, Liz," chimed Sarah. "We're anxious to hear the plan."
"Very good," Liz smiled. "Now, I'm going to transform each of you..."
