Marcia got another lesson in womanhood in this world, as the elder council decided to find her a mate. They didn't want Marcia to lose her babies, as any satyr would be happy to have them. And being a single mother was not very feasible, particularly with six or more infants. But the most insulting part was that she would be auctioned off to her mate.
It took some time after Patrick left for the auction to be arranged. By then, Marcia was already showing. She stood on stage in the middle of town, wearing clothes that had been made for her by a local dryad named Jewelweed, listening to men offer money for her.
The ultimate winner was a satyr named Rycksyn. He already had a wife, a chubby but beautiful human woman named Andi. But he wanted another to keep house.
Rycksyn brought Marcia to his home, where her sister wife greeted them. Andi had given birth to a baby satyress named Penelope, but gotten pregnant again immediately after, as Rycksyn was determined to have a son. She had a smaller baby bump than Marcia, despite being further along.
Andi seemed eerily familiar to Marcia, though she couldn't quite place it. For her part, Andi seemed to recognize Marcia as well. She also warned Marcia of Rycksyn's anger and mood swings. But the presence of Marcia seemed to calm him down, particularly after a witch scanned Marcia and discovered all her babies were male satyrs. Andi was, to Rycksyn's disappointment, carrying a female human.
Marcia settled in with Andi, Rycksyn, and Penelope, learning how to tend a house from her sister wife. And planning for her eventual escape once she gave birth.
