There had been only one man in the entire city willing to take on the burden of Marcia and her satyr pregnancy. A farmer who lived on the edge of town and needed a lot of hands to work the farm. He also happened to be a centaur. Luckily, he was an incredibly handsome one, and Marcia's disoriented brain happily agreed to become his mate.
Life as a farmer's wife was not easy. Marcia had to work just as her mate, Akhalteke, did. Even as her belly grew, she was still harvesting string beans and climbing peas, still churning butter, still fixing holes in the fences.
By the time Marcia gave birth, the disorientation had worn off. She was clear-minded again. But the womanly feelings from the potion would remain until she stopped being a woman. And so, Marcia was strongly attracted to Akhalteke, and felt a powerful motherly bond to her children. Feelings she'd never had with Amphibo or her gillbabies.
Marcia was harvesting carrots when she went into labor. Akhalteke came to help, but her labor moved quickly. She birthed all seven half-satyrs in the vegetable field. The extra one was from one of the satyrs releasing in her twice.
Akhalteke vowed to raise the children as his own, and even gave them centaur names. He instructed Marcia to take a break from working in the fields. Marcia soon grew bored staying in the house, however, and returned to her work. She brought the babies in a large cart with her, so she could tend to them while she tended to the crops.
It was hard work and a hard life, but Marcia felt a bond with her mate and children, and didn't want to leave them. Though she did still long to be Mark once again.
