Macy decided to go to bed, the machine letting out a small puff of smoke as if to beg her not to hit it again. Macy crashed on her bed, tomorrow she'd have to take a look at the computer and see if she could fix it, or rather find someone to fix it. Her mind drifted with the thoughts of a repair shop in town as she fell asleep.
Macy's rest was anything but as she tossed in her bed, waking up a stark cold sweet, she looked across her room in the early morning darkness. She looked over to see a clock glowing, it was only 6am, she only slept four hours. She slumped back on her bed. As she tried to go back to sleep the light suddenly flicked on as she had to shield her eyes. "Who?-" she muttered, surprised at how her voice sounded. Her mom stood over the door, looking much younger than how remembered. Macy looked around the room, it looked way too childish. Macy's heart fell into her stomach, she didn't stop the machine! Macy jumped up and looked around, quickly turning to her mother she blurted out. "Uh mom how old am I?" Hestitate for an answer, but her mother only raised her eyebrow before answering. "Did you forget? You're eight Macy. Now get ready for school you gotta catch the bus this morning." Macy's jaw dropped as her mother then left the room. She pulled out her fingers, wincing at her left arm was still a cats paw. In four hours she'd lost eight years! Macy looked back at the clock, By 10 she'd be nothing?!? Macy started to freak out, looking for the machine but it wasn't anywhere in her room. Macy looked down at herself, the changes were much more noticeable as she was constantly losing height every few minutes. After a half hour of scouring her room she was already seven years old again.
"This can't be happening! It's gotta be around here somewhere!" Macy cried out, expanding her search to the other rooms of the house. She had to find it before she ended up like Jeff!
