“So why are we doing this here of all places? It’s so cold and damp?” Emma demanded as she met up with Jessica and Anna within this sea-linked cave not far from Jessica’s seaside home. “Also secluded and hidden for the plan girls” Jessica assured as she was stripping down to naked. “Really? Here?” Anna questioned in bewilderment “But I didn’t bring my bikini”. “Oh so trying this oh natural didn’t seem appealing?” Jessica dared as she sat down to start putting her tail on “I mean who do you expect to see three mermaids and not think they’d need eye or psychiatric help?”. “…has a point plus not many people are expected to visiting today” Emma accepted as she followed Jessica’s lead “Plus mermaids wearing seashell bras or some swimming top was mostly moral guardian crap started needlessly in the 80s”.
Somewhat reluctantly Anna soon quickly joined her friends in stripping and getting her own tail on while the girls stuffed their clothing into this duffle bag Jessica and brough along that was soon hidden among some rocks in a dry corner. “you girls ready then?” Jessica questioned once all three girls were seated on the waterline. “And waiting” Emma assured. “Providing this works of course” Anna added. “So… 3…2…1” Jessica called out and upon ending the countdown the three girls quickly plunged themselves into the water…
…and to what to the girls felt like a wonderous few minutes but was really a split second as they were transformed, their legs melded together into singular limbs and the material of the tails became genuine scales and fused to their bodies to give them genuine mermaid tails, their tailfins shifting from plastic into a proper organic extension of their tails, even their upper bodies received changes as their human skin while unchanged on the surface gained a vast resistances to deep pressure and temperature changes while their lungs reformatted to metabolise oxygen from the seawater and their eyes gained a protective layer granting them perfect underwater vision…
…“Amazing… it actually worked. WE’RE MERMAIDS” Emma called out in joy before suddenly swimming in loops. “See… it worked and you were the fearful one” Jessica remarked as she swam up though narrowly managed to avoid getting hit by Emma’s tail. “Sorry” Emma apologised. “It’s alright, after all this is an amazing event for all of us” Jessica assured. “Agreed, now let’s head on out” Anna followed as she led the way out of the underwater tunnel linking the cave to the open ocean.
Before long the three newly minted mermaids were swimming about the open ocean just off the coast of their home, playing around the deep rocky outcrops if not having fun with several of the schools of fishes visiting the area. Unaware of a certain event coming from an upcoming action:
