I made my way to the cafeteria; thankfully, where once it served middling meals, now with a simple change, it served the finest high-class entrées. I grabbed a seat and sighed with relief as I enjoyed and savored a bountiful steak. It was bliss.
A sound of a chair shuffling made me open my eyes. Max had finally woken up, it seemed, her large breasts hitting the table with a light thud. After a sharp gaze from her, my eyes shot back up, looking at her face. "Hey, sorry if I woke you up this morning," I said, trying to keep casual.
Max stretched, glad to be off her feet, no doubt. "Yeah, it's fine. It took me a while to get over here ... you know how it goes," she stated, with a grumble.
I studied Max up and down. She was cute for sure. I was lucky to have her for a roommate. But ... I could make her cuter. I turned to flip out the tome. Max raised an eyebrow. "What's that? Some book from the library?"
Shaking my head, I pulled out a pencil. "No, it's just, like, a fancy notebook. I've just been writing a few things lately," I said, as I wrote out Max has blonde hair. Looking back up, sure enough, Max had honey blonde hair, instead of her usual muddy brown. It was still just as long, hanging down the sides of her face. She wasn't one to put her hair in a ponytail.
"What kind of stuff?" Max asked, not noticing the change.
I shrugged, saying "Oh, you know, just some random things. It's not really important." I then wrote Max always wears her hair in pigtails. I snickered when I saw the change. If it wasn't for her large breasts, I'd almost think she was a little girl, with that hairstyle.
"Why are you laughing? Let me see what you're writing," she said, grabbing the book from me.
"Hey, give it back!" I said, shocked that someone would take the book from me, then horrified at the thought that she'd write something down and change reality. Chances were good that I wouldn't notice what was changed! I had to get it back!
Max smirked. "What? You don't want your secrets ... getting out?" she asked, her voice dropping as she looked at the first page. "What is this?" she asked, confused.
I had to make something up on the spot. "I'm just writing down observations, that all," I replied.
"It doesn't seem that way." Max had caught on ... fuck, she was too smart and knew me too well.
"No, I swear. See? Watch. Let me add more to it," I begged, reaching out for the book.
Max raised an eyebrow. "Okay, but I'm adding something first," she said, as she grabbed a pencil.
"No!" I yelled, as I nearly leapt over the table.
Max leaned back out of arm's reach, surprised by my ferocity. "Woah, you are really defensive. Don't worry so much. You'll like this," she insisted.
I froze as I watched her write. I was too late. I could only pray she wrote something benign and stupid. No matter what it was, if I could just get the book back, I could erase it.
After a few seconds, Max turned the book around, so I could see what she wrote. "Here you go. How's that for an observation?" she said, doing "finger quotes" in the air as she said the last word.
I looked down at the page with trepidation, seeing what she wrote. But, of course, whatever it was, I would think that it was the truth, that it was always supposed to be that way, as that was how the book worked.
