Lisa woke up the next morning excited that her week of being grounded, being unable to see or talk to Ty, was finally over. It seemed like it had been forever. Could she even remember what Ty looked like, she wondered to herself, facetiously.
At the breakfast table, she asked her parents to confirm that she was now allowed to have contact with Ty again. "Yes, dear," Maria told her. "You may see and talk to Ty."
Diego nodded. "Just try to stay out of trouble. We'd hate to have to do this again."
"Thank you!" Lisa told them. "We will both try to be more responsible."
She wasn't sure whether there was time for an immediate reunion, but she figured it wouldn't hurt to try. She went up to her bedroom, and knocked on the portal doorway to Ty's bedroom, which had stood closed for an entire week. There was no answer. Ty's probably eating breakfast, she thought. Or maybe even waiting for the bus. She decided to text him, and then wait to see him at lunchtime at school.
"Ty, my parents confirm that I'm no longer grounded! We can finally see each other again! I'll see you at lunch time," she texted. She started gathering her school stuff, and only a minute later she heard a knock at the portal door. She threw it open, and Ty was there. He grabbed her tightly, and lifted her off the ground, and they kissed.
"Ty, we don't have time," she said. "We have to get ready for school."
Ty said, "Time? We have nothing but time!" He put her down, and walked to the side of her bed, then turned the special knob he'd added to her alarm clock. The seconds appeared to stop their progression. It didn't actually stop time, but it gave them asked much time as they wanted.
"Oh, I'd forgotten about that," Lisa said. "That's great, because I've been thinking all week about the things I wanted to do once we were together, and I'll bet you have too. I thought we'd have to wait until after school."
"It's school that can wait," Ty said, and kissed her again. "So, tell me about the things you want to do."
