Laundry day? Chad woke up buried under a bunch of Dirk's dirty clothing. He initially panicked at not being worn. Then he felt a wave of relief that Dirk wasn't wearing him. Maybe he could escape?
He felt the clothes bundle he was in moving. After a few minutes, the bundle was set down. Then the pile of clothing on top of him started to get lighter. Chad saw daylight. It wasn't Dirk. It was the cleaning lady Rosario. She worked for Chad's mother too, and her skeezy son Rico "helped" her. Chad was sure Rico pinched some of his clothes when Rico was helping his mamacita.
She picked Chad up with two fingers and dropped him into the top load washing machine in Dirk's basement.
More clothing followed. The water flooded the washer's drum. Next the agitators started. It was brutal. Finally, the water drained. Then the spin dry began. Chad passed out. He would have vomited if he was still human. It made the tilt-a-whirl at the midway look like a carousel.
Hours later, Chad woke to find himself hanging from a clothesline by his ears. His feet were touching concrete floor. He must have become human again. He reached up to remove the clothespin, and was shocked to see his arm in the dimly lit space was blue fabric and not flesh.
His ragdoll hands were not very strong or very dextrous, but he managed to free both ears. Then he discovered that his ragdoll legs were not up to supporting his weight. He collapsed on the floor in a heap like the ragdoll that he was now.
He crawled on all fours to the only door he could see. Maybe Dirk could help him, if he would?
Ragdoll hands proved pretty ineffective at turning the old door knob. Chad used both arms wrapping them around the knob, then twisted his body and pushed on the adjacent wall with his cloth feet - he managed to open the door.
