The rebel opened Jas's diaper.
"Huh. I could have sworn you were a little prince, but clearly, you are not," the rebel remarked. Jas lifted his head. His eyes widened. His manhood, what little of it there was, was gone! He was no longer a prince. She was a princess! "I suspect Jas must be a nickname of some sort." The rebel patted Jas's head. "Not to worry. Now that I know you are a princess, you will certainly be safe."
The rebel finished the diaper change and set the new toddler girl on the floor. Jas sat there, trying to think. What was she going to do? What could she do? She felt warmth spread through her diaper and sighed. It seemed the only thing she could do was use a diaper.
A few weeks passed, with little change other than what rebel was taking care of Jas. Her half-sisters slowly disappeared from the nursery, until she was the only one left.
Jas bent into a squat as she pushed her breakfast into her diaper. She sucked on her thumb, bored. The best she could say about her situation was that she was out of danger. That much was clear. But the rebels were still deciding what to do with a toddler princess.
"Oh, little Jas, that is not the position you should be in!" a voice said. Jas looked up. The rebel that most frequently took care of her, named Cal, had entered the nursery. A woman and man in fine clothing were behind him. "Your new parents are here, and you introduce yourself by filling your diaper?"
New parents? Jas finished pooping and straightened. She waddled to Cal and looked up at him.
"I poo-poo."
"Yes, you did." Cal looked at the man and woman. "Sorry, Your Highnesses. I can change her quickly."
"No need," said the woman. She was short and pale, with light brown hair and violet eyes. "She is to be my child, after all." The woman picked Jas up and carried her to the changing table. She expertly changed Jas's diaper, then turned to the man that had come with her. "Do you have her gown?"
"Yes, of course." The man handed a tiny light purple gown to the woman, who put Jas in it. "She is perfect."
"Yes, she is," the woman breathed. She scooped Jas into her arms, then turned to Cal. "And this will come a long way in improving relations between Northfjord and Karagot's new King. Vidar and I have been so desperately wanting a child for so long..."
Vidar? Northfjord? Jas's eyes widened. She was being sent to live with Prince Vidar and Princess Lilia of the snowy island Kingdom of Northfjord! She recognized them from diplomatic meetings, back when she was Prince Jasper.
The idea of being so far away made her sad, but she was relieved to be getting out of the rebel home base. Perhaps this was all a ruse to rescue her, even!
