As the police van drove away from the bar, the original Sam tried to explain to Bambi what was happening. Bambi didn’t understand how or why she was changing into a white women and why Samantha was now looking like her. “It is that medallion you snatched from me. It caused us to swap bodies” Sam realised she was now speaking with Bambi’s voice
“You took it off me first” replied a defensive Bambi, as she looked at her now white skinned hands. “How long does this effect last? Do I really look like you now?” There was no mirror in the van. Bambi could only take the other woman’s word for what she looked like. However seeing as Samantha now looked and sounded like Bambi used to be, she believed.
“You do. And we are stuck like this for 12 hours. That is assuming you still have the medallion”
Bambi must have looked guilty. As she saw a look of dismay on her old face even before she replied. “I don’t. I lost it during the flight”
“Fuck! This is permanent without the medallion. We need to find it! Let’s hope Jordan has it”
“Ohhh……” replied Bambi as she contemplated being stuck as a white woman. She was a bit confused though having no idea who Jordan was. Was that Marcia’s sister?
Just then the van pulled to a stop. Sam correctly assumed they had arrived at the watch-house. “We will just have to pretend to be each other until we can find that medallion. You are now Sam Colson. I’m you. Is Bambi my real name?”
…….
Sam found herself processed as ‘Barbara Williams’ the officer who processed her appeared to know her well. Sam actually recognised the officer herself from her own previous visits.
The former Bambi was processed as Samantha Colson. They were thrown into a cell together.
10 minutes later the neighbouring cells became occupied by two versions of Jordan. Their processing was prolonged as both had originally claimed they were ‘Jordan’, yet their fingerprints matched those of ‘Marcia Skeese’. In the end the original Jordan conceded she could be ‘Marcia’ in the interests of getting this over and done with. After all it was only for one night.
‘Jordan’ knew her rights, so demanded she be put into a different cell to ’Marcia’
Sam observed the two Jordans placed in the cells either side of hers. She failed to recognise that both were wearing dresses. She had expected to see ‘Emma’ show up. That gave her hope that the original Jordan remained free and hopefully had the medallion. She assumed the two Jordan’s were Skeesy and the lawyers wife. She whispered to Bambi “Keep quite about our swap”
….
By the time Janet and Skeesy had returned to the bar the police and their detainees had long gone. As had the stranger who had pocketed the medallion. They searched the area where the fight had taken place but found no sign of the medallion. A barman saw Skeesy and assumed she was one of the twins who had caused the earlier fight. He came over and demanded that she and her boyfriend leave or he would call the police back. Neither Janet or Skeesy wanted to be arrested so they departed.
“So Janet, what do we do now?” Asked Skeesy once they were back outside. She had heard her doppelgänger call ‘Sam’ Janet just before the fight started.
Janet now had second thoughts about who this woman was. Only Bruce would know her real name. It seemed the tantrum she had thrown in the car was just from frustration. She could understand why Bruce might want to become a man again but she just needed to come to terms with her new life as a wife and mother. That might take time but Janet was willing to put in the effort. “The others were arrested. Unless we get arrested ourselves, we won’t be able to talk to them until tomorrow. I say we return to the hotel and get a good nights rest then deal with this in the morning. They won’t be going anywhere”
Sleazy didn’t disagree. Perhaps because of the adrenaline from the fight, she found herself quite aroused even if a bit sore. There seemed nothing more they could do tonight. A night snuggled up against this man felt like a good idea. She willingly got back into the passenger seat of the man’s car and strapped herself up.
