"My Lady," Janessa said, curtseying. Lilia looked at her in amusement.
"My dear Janessa, we have no need of such formalities!" she laughed. Janessa straightened, smiling.
"I must keep up my manners, lest I forget them." Her face sombered. "Lilia, I awoke with a horrid headache this morning."
"Oh, I knew I should have taken that wine from you!" Lilia muttered. Janessa waited for her to explain. "Last night, I told you to get a bottle of wine from the cellars, to toast your upcoming wedding and Greta's birthday. The three of us finished the first bottle, and Greta grabbed a second. I was done, but the two of you clearly have yet to give up your partying ways! I told the two of you to finish the celebration in your room."
"It was just wine?"
"Not just any wine. I realized after we parted ways that Greta had grabbed enchanted wine. The grapes that it is made from are grown by witches with magic, then it is brewed with magic. Witches drink it when their magic stores are emptied, as it will refill them."
"What does it do to non-witches?"
"I do not know. Hopefully, just gives them a horrid headache." Lilia smiled ruefully. "I suspected it would not do much to the two of you, so decided you could have it." Lilia kissed Janessa's cheek. "Go lay down until Sven arrives. It will help your headache."
Janessa returned to her room to lie down in the dark, and think on what Lilia had said. It rung true in a way many things today had not, including her own reflection. She sighed and closed her eyes. She was just hungover. Once she had some rest, she would feel better.
