"It's nice to see you, Ty," Maria said. "Diego tells me that you've done an... unusual... transformation to our daughter, and she wants to stay in that form in our house, not just in her bedroom. From the little bit that he was able to tell me, I was shocked, but also amazed at your imagination."
Ty had to explain again that the idea had actually been all Lisa's, and that he only added minor embellishments.
"Oh," Maria said. "I should give my daughter more credit, then. Sorry, honey!"
"That's fine," Lisa replied.
"As you both know," Maria said, "I don't especially like watching Ty's magic being performed. I'm not necessarily as squeamish about the final results, but you'll remember that at first I didn't like you having a different hair color. Later I told you that you could change your personal appearance however you wanted, although all I had in mind were the kinds of changes in appearance that one ordinarily sees. Now, what Diego described to me is a whole other... um... kettle of fish, if you'll pardon the pun. Lisa, I hate to put you on the spot, but don't you like the body I've... we've...", she said, waving to Diego, "given you?"
"Oh, Mom, it's nothing like that! Yes, I like my normal body," Lisa said.
"As do I," Ty interjected.
"This isn't about disliking my body, it's just about liking to experiment with changes, to be different. I don't want to permanently change my form. With some of the transformations Ty has done to me, I'll admit that I've been tempted, but we actually had a talk about that earlier today, and Ty knows that I'll always want to return to my normal form. Which, as you say, you and Dad gave me."
"OK, honey," Maria said. "I just wanted to understand. And I think I'm becoming a little less squeamish about seeing Ty's abilities. When we thought you were missing, I was fine with Ty and June teleporting over. Maybe I'll get over it entirely, but I'm not there yet. So now, would you please change to this new... form... of yours, but go to your bedroom to do it?"
"Sure, Mom," Lisa said. "I'll go to my room and change." She headed upstairs. Ty knew that she didn't need any help from him for that, so he stayed with her parents.
"I don't think I've ever before heard anyone say they were going to change," Diego said, "and mean anything so radical."
A brief time later, Lisa came back down the stairs, in her aquarium form, still wearing her jeans, but now with the bikini top. As she entered the living room, Maria gasped. "You're... That's... Absolutely stunning!" she said.
"Do you like it?" Lisa asked.
"I'm mostly startled," Maria said, "but I think... yes, I think I do like it."
"Oh, Mom, I'm so glad!" Lisa said. She hugged her mother, and kissed her on the cheek. "Does that mean?"
Maria looked at Diego, and nodded. Diego said, "Yes, Lisa. You may be in that form in the house, as long as we don't have outside company."
"Thanks, Dad!" she said, and hugged him too.
Maria and Diego continued to look at their daughter, almost entranced. As before, she really didn't mind being stared at, but after a minute, she said, "I don't want to keep Ty's family waiting. If you don't mind, Ty and I will go back there to play another game."
"Oh, certainly, honey," Maria said, "Go back to game night. And please tell them hello from us."
"We will," Lisa said, and led Ty back upstairs.
