Lisa and Dustin found themselves back in Ty's bedroom, and sat at the conference table to wait for Ty's return. Lisa was still crying. "I'm sorry, Lisa," Dustin said. "Sorty about what happened... what is happening, to Ty. It's my fault."
"Thanks, Dustin," Lisa said, "but it's not your fault."
"It's is, though. This was all just to get me a car that I don't even actually need! I had no idea that it would cause such a calamity! I feel terrible!"
"No, it's not your fault at all," Lisa said. "It's just an unfortunate accident. Ty will be back soon."
They waited in silence a few minutes, then Ty appeared, holding the SSD and laptop. The new Ty. He put the SSD back in his desk drawer, and sat down at the table with them.
"Is he?" Lisa asked, "I mean, you? The other you?"
Ty said, "He explained to me what happened between our last common memory, sending our pieces back, and when you transformed me back to human. He knew he wouldn't last much longer, and told me what he wanted. He said that he would close his eyes, and picture you, and that I should give him a few seconds, then end his suffering."
Lisa cried harder.
"But I'm here? It's me, again?" Ty said to her, confused.
"Just let her deal with it in her own way, Ty," Dustin said, gently. "In her own time." Ty realized that Dustin was right, and sat quietly.
After a while, Lisa composed herself, and said, "I'm glad you're back."
