The first aisle Amy walked through had nothing out of the ordinary; just everyday clothing, makeup and health care accessories. But at the very end of the long aisle, she found an endcap with various wigs. Some looked normal, such as the short black bob, others totally outrageous, such as the foam-like yellow hair that spiked out in all directions like lightning bolts.
Her eyes fell on one wig in particular. Amy had always loved her hair, which was a deep brown and slightly wavy, however she had never been able to grow it longer than her shoulder blades. The wig she saw was a dazzling arrangement of tresses the same color as her hair, and just as wavy, except these stretched on and on. Amy looked around for anyone working at the store, but there wasn't a soul in sight. She figured just a quick tryout couldn't hurt anything. She had always wondered how it would feel to have such long hair.
She tenderly lifted the wig from its white plastic head and felt the strands. They were silky and shone brightly in the light from a nearby lamp. It felt just like real hair, and Amy wondered if some unfortunate soul had willingly or unwillingly donated half a lifetime's worth of hair to make this wig.
With her free hand, she brushed her short hair behind her shoulders. She carefully lifted the wig over her head and placed it onto her own hair. It seemed fairly secure, and she tested it to see if it would slip. Then she shook her head and felt the weight of the tresses shifting and pulling her scalp. She looked around for a mirror, and remembered she passed one in the clothing aisle. As she walked quickly back down the aisle, the hair flew about her like a robe. It brushed her lower legs and got tangled in her moving arms. When she reached the mirror, she straightened it back out and gave herself a look.
The top of the wig blended in seamlessly with her head. Its wavy hair rippled all the way down her body in a cascade of shiny brown strands. The wig reached all the way to her ankles and framed her entire body magnificently.
Amy had a strong desire to buy the wig, and proceeded up to the front desk. If the price was too much, she couldn't get it, but she had to try.
