"Listen, if you think you're going to turn me into a Mexican, you've got another thing coming!" Bill exclaimed, as Dave paused.
"At least you didn't say 'wetback', that's something." Dave said. He wrote a number on the pad: 1/64. Bill didn't seem to change at all.
"I-" Bill began.
"But you did use the word 'coon', though," Dave said, crossing out the 64 and writing in 32. Bill's hair darkened slightly, but he didn't notice. His attention was still on the short beefy Hispanic man Tim had become. Tim was still in shock, it seemed. Bill began to think maybe he just imagined it.
"What business is it what I say, anyway?" he demanded.
"1/16," Dave wrote in his notebook, and Bill's skin took on a slightly less pink undertone.
