The three of you head outside, with your alpha leading the way. You soon pick up the scent of humans...prey! You follow the trail further into the town, back to its center, where you and Becky first heard the howls that drove you up to the police station in the first place. Though you can smell the scent of the werewolves that chased you, they're no longer here.
A large cloud bank covers the moon, and you feel a great weakness in your body. You fall to the ground, trembling as the power of the beast is sapped from your form. The reversion to humanity almost feels like a little death to you.
You rise back to your feet, naked in the darkness; you note that the reversion hasn't diluted your senses completely, however. You can see much more clearly in the dark than you used to, and you still can smell the prey. You can hear laughter coming from the Howling Beast Inn, despite it being easily 100 yards away. Still, you long for the animal inside to break free once more, and you snarl up at the cloudy sky.
"Not to worry," your alpha says, standing up as well, "The clouds will pass soon enough."
"I'm hungry," Becky complains, " I want to hunt!"
"Me too," you say, realizing a growing hunger in yourself as well.
"Patience," your alpha replies, "For many, the best part of the kill is the anticipation."
