After you've been walking for what feels like hours, you're getting tired. Your fur is still damp. That combined with a cool breeze that has picked up makes you cold.
Jason has told you much. This planet is innocent. They are a civilisation equivalent to pre industrial Earth. The reptilians had captured several females like you for their leader. Jason's team had infiltrated the ship in order to rescue them. Their leader had planned to go to his planet where he felt that no one could detected them.
It's dark out; stars illuminate the sky. You hear the sounds of animals all around you. They make you nervous as for all you know; some may be venomous or other predators. Despite your current armed state, you’re still afraid.
"Maybe we should set up camp for the night," Jason says.
You find a rock that seems suitable to provide at least some shelter. Jason sits you down behind it. You feel relieved to be able to sit after all that walking. He builds a small pile of rocks a short distance from the two of you and uses his pistol to heat the rocks up. Almost immediately, you start feeling the heat from the rocks.
“I didn’t think that really worked!” you say.
“You’ve seen others do this before?” he asks.
You nod your head. “On TV, in situations like this. Of course, there weren’t too many naked skunk women or tiger men in those. When a man and woman ended up together, they usually ended up doing something, if you know what I mean.”
Jason sits down beside you. “You’ve said that you were a man before this happened to you. I doubt such an occurrence would be … appropriate for either of us.”
“No, I guess it wouldn’t. I don’t even know why I ended up on your world let alone why it made me a female skunk,” you say.
“Perhaps…”
You look at Jason, he seems to have wanted to say more but appears reluctant. “Perhaps what?” you asked.
Jason looks away from you. “Hey, you might as well say it,” you say.
Looking back at him, Jason’s eyes meet yours. “Perhaps, a part of you wanted to be this way. We may have been destined to meet. I will not lie to you. You are a beautiful skunk. It would be inappropriate for me to pursue any sort of relationship other then a professional one with you. However, I feel a connection to you.”
Your fur is drier then it was. However, you’re still damp. You standing and walk over to the rocks, putting your hands out as you would with a fire.
“I choose a skunk from all of those species listed. I admit that this form has its appeal. I won’t lie to you. This body of mine responds to yours. I never considered myself female inside. However, if that’s what I am now then perhaps I need to accept it.”
“Perhaps,” Jason says.
The warmth of the rocks feels nice against your body. You feel safe with Jason nearby. However, you’re also getting hungry. You realise that you haven’t had anything to eat since arriving in this place. You walk back over to Jason and place your rifle on the ground. You lay down, putting your head on his lap. Although you’re unsure why you did this, it feels right. You look into his eyes. His body is warm and his breathing relaxes you.
“I could use some rest. I think we both could,” you say.
Jason nods. “Don’t worry, I’ll keep you safe.”
You smile at him and nod before closing your eyes and falling asleep.
