John was an average 17-year-old, who just happened to have a bad run at high school. He wasn't as smart as he thought he was going to be, nor good at sports, and he eventually found himself in a situation in which he had no friends and nothing to look forward to in life.
On the internet he had recently saw a device that promised to change all of that. He really just bought it on a whim at 2:30am, but kept wondering whether it was real.
That day he got the shock of his life. "John, a package is here for you, is it that computer joystick you ordered off eBay?" Knowing that the joystick wasn't coming for many weeks, John started getting very excited. If this thing wasn't a scam, it could change everything, everything.
He quickly took the package from his mother, shooed her out of the room, and opened it.
Chronivac Version 4.0 - the packaging read. He plugged the USB device into his computer, and put the portable emmitter on a shelf
next to the 200-page intruction manual.
"Welcome to Chronivac Version 4.0" his computer shouted. On the screen appeared about 100 different sliders and options. John, who was starting to get the sense this wasn't a joke product, began reading the tooltips behind each option and slider, and started thinking about what change he was going to make first.
