A brief moment of extreme confusion and angst, you grab the hatchet in a sweeping move, fumbling out of the door, looking intensly at Red who stands atop the large bear with a seemingly loose bite on his hide. He takes the blunt side of the hatchet and swings hard at Red's legs, who stumbles down the bears back and with a heavy thud falls down in the dirt. Before she manage to get up again, you leap ontop of her and put the hatchet underneath your right foot.
"Stop!"
Red lies still on the ground, each move she does, the hatchet sinks a bit deeper into her flesh, she begins to whimper. Suddenly, Granny leaps away from the shapeshifted stranger, and walk around you in a circle, with yellow glaring eyes staring intensly at you. The large black bear treads back to you, still willing to protect you it seems. The foreboding moment is hanging in the air, and except a slight rusk in the trees around you, you can only hear the bears heavy breaths. He turns around and looks at you, "Don't... let go of that hatchet", he says with a bestial voice, resonating deep within your body.
You feel like you could start hyperventilate, your heart is beating faster and faster and you strain your neck, not able to avoid the stare of the werewolf circulating the area. You hear dripping, and you see that the bear is looking fatigued with great red cuts in his broad throat. "Granny... you know we have a dead situation here. This young fellow is going to kill your daughter... I think he passed the test for all it's worth!"
The werewolf is disturbed by his words, and glares intensly again at you while uttering a few, growling words.
"You pass. Now let go of my daughter!"
The hatchet has actually sunk in pretty deep, when you release the hatchet, you see that she has fainted. With a surprised and despaired face, you fall down on your knees and slowly lifts up her wolverine head. You are suddenly pushed with force, tumbling several meters away from Red. Jerking your head quickly after the hard tumble, you don't see any beasts near the cot. The fair woman screams at the man with the black expansive beard; "Once a failure, always a failure!"
Her words hit him hard, and drops heavily on a tree stump, covering his wounds on his now much thinner neck. "And you! You know what is going to await you after you've met Richard here, who'd know you'd be so lucky to find him so quickly!"
You walk slowly towards them, still a bit flabbergasted and in shock. Everything happened so fast! Now he has suddenly injured this... although a bit sadistical girl, severly. Just a moment ago he was fighting against two beasts! You approach the granny and Red, but only to realize that you actually hunched and sat down on your knees as you came closer to her. Her gaze chills you, and you feel dominated not only by normal human standards. "A guardian." She sighs. "Although very young..." She glances at the man on the tree stump. "Richard here will assist you in anything you may need,"
She walks up with unreasonable strength and carry the girl in just one arm deeper into the forest. The tree seems to rustle around her, as if stirred by her emotions.
"...Apprentice."
