"Jean? Jean? What are you doing here?" I saw that a pretty young girl in her late teens had spotted Jean. She was nursing a baby, and my respect for the power and intelligence of the ring went up further as I realized that it had provided that those men who had regressed to being girl babies would have nursing mothers to feed them.
Jean embraced her sibling. "You look beautiful." she said, and I withdrew to give the two a moment of privacy.
The confused new women sought guidance from me, as they recognized me as a born-woman. I encouraged them to work together with the changed administration of the prison to keep the institution running until society had processed the change. Many hoped to rejoin their families now that they had changed, but I didn't know what would happen.
"This is my lover, Greta. Greta, this is my wonderful new sister, Julia. And this is her adopted daughter, Rashawna."
"It's an honor meeting you. So Jean told me that there are no more men?"
"No, there aren't. The same change that happened here happened all over the world."
"At first we thought that this was some new thing the warden was trying to control the population here, but then we saw the guards change too. When she was a man, Rashawna was a vicious killer and a rapist in and out of prison, but now I just want to take care of her and make sure she doesn't grow up that way again. Things are so strange now."
