His anger reappeared, but what about Katie? He looked and saw her speechless, staring at his new form. He moved toward her a little, and she backed away slightly. This made his more angry with the old man. But what was to be done?
He didn't do anything. He just sat there, pondering his situation. How did this happen? This was impossible. Nobody could turn a man into an animal. That was the stuff of fantasy stories.

"What have you done to my boyfriend?!" Katie demanded.

I have many clients, so messing up a wand this important would certainly lose me business. Here, let me take care of your friend."
The old man turned the wand toward John again, but was interrupted. It was Katie.
She said, "Wait... do we really have to turn him back so soon?"
This turned John's attention back to his fiancé. What the hell? but all that came out was a questioning half-bark.
