"There was this large old book the old man had at the counter," Amy remembered. "Maybe it's like the store's inventory."
Lina shrugged, turning regrettably away from her reflection. "It's worth a shot."
They trekked back to the front of the store. Amy couldn't believe how long it seemed to be taking. She also had to keep reminding Lina not to walk too fast. Halfway there, her pants started slipping again, but this time her belt couldn't get any tighter. She had run out of notches. With a sigh, Amy dropped her pants and walked right out of them. She looked up at Lina and saw her holding back a chuckle. That's when she realized her underwear had fallen off, too. Embarrassed, she tried to pull her overlarge shirt even farther down her legs and they continued on.
Lina had kept the tape measure with them, and she measured herself again when they got to the front of the store. "Seven feet!" she proclaimed. "Yeah, I think this is enough now." She grunted as she tried to adjust her shorts. The strain of her waist combined with her tugging caused the button to pop off and the zipper to burst, though the shorts stayed on. "Ah, that's better." She started to take off her jacket as well, seeing that the sleeves barely covered her elbows at this point.
Amy tried to ignore the fact that she could hold a yardstick above her head and still not reach Lina's height as she opened the large dusty book. It was full of hand-written poems and drawings of mythical creatures and strange-looking items. Some were diagrams, some just looked like doodles. She flipped through the book for a long time while Lina tried to amuse herself with anything she could find within the confines of their leashes, occasionally measuring herself and Amy. She also complained about her chest once she realized it had flattened completely. Amy's, on the other hand, felt oddly pleasant with her large breasts squeezing against the counter. She found it hard to put the sensation out of her mind.
"You'd better hope that thing isn't cursed," Amy warned as she read a page about animal potions. She had shrunk so far that she had to stand on tip-toes to keep reading. She climbed onto the rickety wooden chair so that she could see the book better. Finally, she came to a page that looked like it could actually help.
