That night, Amy had a little trouble falling asleep. Her head pounded, her ears itched and she couldn't keep her mind off her awesome tail. When she did sleep, she dreamt of standing in an open meadow. It was quiet and peaceful, nothing to bother her from eating the delicious grass while a cool breeze swept over her.
After waking up, she got dressed in the outfit she prepared the night before. Again stringing her tail through the new hole in her pants, she posed in front of the mirror to make sure it looked all right. Something in her hair caught her eye, and when her attention was drawn to it, she felt muscles in her head spring to life.
Two long, pointed ears perked up out of her brown hair. Amy leapt backward, startled, then grabbed them with her hands. Just like her tail, she could feel the nerves in them sending messages to her brain. And it looked like she could control them, too. She let them go, watching them flop down the sides of her head. They were covered in white fur except for a large black patch on the left ear.
"I wonder if these things..." she thought, turning her head to the window. Her ear closest to it lifted up like a radar dish, and she could distinctly hear activity outside as if the window was open. Birds chirped, leaves rustled and cars passed outside, all coming in with crystal clarity. "Awesome!" she shouted. Now she had two amazing features to be proud of.
She continued dressing. After putting on her bra, she realized it felt a little tighter than usual. Her breasts had never been anything to boast about, but they had still been growing a little lately. Still, this particular discovery seemed to matter less than her cow parts.
She arrived at school with her tail and ears out for all to see. Walking into the building, she looked around anxiously for every student in sight to stare at her freakish form, but nobody paid her any attention. Amy smiled broadly as she walked through the halls, perfectly blending with the rest of the students just like usual...only this time, there was one happy difference.
"Hey Lina," she greeted at her locker. Lina had been waiting for her it seemed, and didn't look very pleased when she saw Amy.
"What are those?" she said accusatorially.
"Like them? I think I could get ten piercings in each and still have room for more." Amy opened up her locker.
"I. Don't. 'Like them.'" Lina said sternly. "Amy, this is just bizarre. If you've changed again then there's no telling what's next."
"I was kind of hoping for fur," she said.
"Well, just be careful. If one of your changes happens in front of everyone, I'll be there to say 'I told you so.'"
Lina stormed off to homeroom. Amy was a little hurt that she wasn't okay with her transformation one hundred percent, but she had always appreciated Lina's brutal honesty and level head. Amy also realized that Lina hadn't seen her ears change, but still knew they were unusual. It appeared that, once broken, the spell shielding people's sense of reason toward the changes was permanently gone.
As she closed her locker, she noticed Geoffrey, the boy from the store, walk by. She almost called to him, but the homeroom bell rang.
