Wendy wanted to know of this advantage Vix had said. “What about using me again?” she grinned.
“I have a plan,” both Lisa and Vix spoke simultaneously. Their heads turned to each other as they stared eye to eye.
“Okay, okay. Vix, give me what you’ve got, and then I can tell you my plan. We need to work together if we’re going to pull this off.”
Vix nodded at Lisa. “Agreed. First of all, however, you must realize something. Dan is not completely severed from his connections in the government at this point. He surely has friends, and perhaps even family in the FBI that he can call upon for help. Secondly, Dan is no idiot; a psychopath, maybe, but not stupid. Think about what he’s asked us for. He wants a meeting of all the werewolves, together in one place, with him. The only protection he has is a single kidnapped werewolf, and he knows if he shoots her, he’ll be torn to shreds. Does that sound like a position you’d want to be in on your own?”
“Are… Are you saying he’s called in reinforcements?” Lisa shuddered.
“Not definitely, but most likely. He’s made his purpose pretty clear. He wants werewolves… ALL werewolves dead. However, he’s put himself into a position where if he kills even one, he’ll be dead almost instantaneously. I say we’re better safe than sorry. I don’t know if you have any friends who know about your secret that you can call for help, but if you do, do it now. As for me, the best I can do is radio my agency and hope for backup to arrive in time. However, I doubt even they have the ability to make it here that quickly… we’re not stationed locally, after all. If neither of those plans work, we’ll just have to make do with…”
“…Wendy.” Lisa finished Vix’s sentence for her. The situation had suddenly gone from a simple kidnapping to a threat on each and every one of her pack member’s lives. “…Unfortunately… I don’t think there’s anyone that we haven’t sent off at this point on our side that can help. My plan was to station Wendy at a strategic location where Dan couldn’t see her. The same goes for you, Vix, as you’re not one of us, and that makes you useful at this point. Then, when the moment was right, we’d have you either attempt to snipe him, or rush the place…” Lisa tapped her thumb against her thigh. “But if he’s got reinforcements, then Wendy and you would be in terrible danger, as would the rest of us.”
“It would be so much easier if we could get the police involved… they could just storm the place…”
Lisa nodded in agreement. “Yes, it would, but we’d run a great risk of exposing our secret. Passing off Dan as a psychopath that has no clue what he’s talking about wouldn’t be to hard at this point, but once he got into court, there’d be little we could do to stop him.”
“We also can’t forget that each of us can be utilized to fight back in case of an ambush, and we must be prepared in case of it. At the very least, I can make a few calls and provide you with bullet-proof vests. They saved Wendy’s life, and they might make the difference here.” Vix stated.
“Yes, that’d be great if you could manage to get some. In fact, that’s your job at this point: try and get those vests secured, and quickly. Alright…” Lisa turned her back as Vix walked a little further away, cell phone in hand. “Okay girls, listen up! Here’s the plan!”
Dan hung up the phone, and quickly dialed another number on his contacts list. “Hello, Paul? How’s the flight going?”
Dan listened intently as the man on the other end responded.
“Good, good… I want you in Ireland as soon as possible, so get there as quickly as you can. You can never have to much insurance when dealing with these devils.”
Dan hung up the phone.
