"Definitely," Katie replied as they both started to make camp, "but why are we out so far from the other attendees?"
Paul looked up from securing a tent rod to the ground, "You try getting any kind of sleep camped right up next to all those hooligans, rookie. This way all of us can party until we decide to sleep, or not, but not having a choice sucks." He stood up and drove the stake in with his heel. "We made that mistake the first two years, so now we make a special request."
"Yeah, but it was easier to find my way back drunk when we were closer," Jack piped in as he threw on the tent's rain cover, "and the ladies love my pimp tent."
"Will you ever get over that stupid tent? In four years you have brought back one poor girl to that thing, and even I can say that one of you must have had beer goggles on." Shanna put her gloves on and strolled back to the fire after zipping a last loose flap.
Jack smiled and snapped a thumbs up with his index fingers pointed at Shanna and Katie. "You know the ladies love me, baby."
"You're a sad boy, Jack." Shanna warmed her hands by the fire as she sat on a camp provided bale of hay. Katie's pale skin glowed from the light of the flame as she sat next to her. "More campers are around us, Katie. We're a little bit early, and you have to look hard to see the other sites, but more fires will start popping up close to us in around an hour."
Katie crossed her ankles as she stared at the flickers playing behind the warm hiking sneakers at the end of her extended legs. "So when do we go through the 'Witches Trail'?"
Shanna rested her unfocused gaze on Paul as he loaded her, his, and Katie's gear into the main tent. "We'll do that tomorrow night. They probably haven't completely finished setting the production up, yet." She shifted her lazy stare to where Jack had begun to break ground for his personal tent. "Tonight, we make sure Jack sets his 'pimp' tent up far away enough from the rest of us, so as to avoid any unlikely and unwanted vocal performances should another young lady lose her mind." Katie snickered. "Then, we all go to the festival area with the Octoberfest or some rum spiked hot chocolate and see how late we can party."
